The Santee Cooper rig uses a sliding sinker on the main line with a swivel, leader, and small peg float to keep the bait suspended just above the bottom.

The sinker stays on the bottom while the float lifts your bait above mud, weeds, and debris — making it easier for catfish to see and smell.

The Carolina rig is the Santee's stripped-down cousin. Sliding egg weight on the main line, pink glass bead for sound, swivel, then a long leader to the circle hook. No peg float.

The bead ticks against the weight on the retrieve — calls fish in from distance. The bait drags naturally along the bottom.

Put a power bait on the treble hook and it's on and cracking. Works for bass, catfish, walleye — anything feeding on the bottom.
